The department of civil engineering was established in the academic year 2008 . It is endowed with well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty and committed supporting staff. The faculty continues to strive hard by exploring new frontiers of knowledge, imparting the latest technical knowledge to the students and conducting high quality of research. The faculty also renders technical advice on live engineering problems to various Government and Private Sector companies .
All the laboratories of the department are well equipped with advanced and sophisticated instruments, to fully satisfy the training needs of the students and to meet the research and consultancy requirements of the department. Conducting seminars, workshops and conferences on the latest developments and arranging internships, industrial visits and expert lectures for the benefit of the students are regular features in the department.
The department has also been able to achieve a high pass percentage in the university examinations. On the Placements front too, many number of students of the Civil Engineering department has been placed in reputed companies like L&T, MEIL, NCC (URBAN), and SPCL etc. and also in various public sectors. The department encourages the students to pursue higher education and various career enhancing courses and active participation in R&D.
The departmental major activities include teaching and research, and providing consultancy services to various organizations in the area of Civil Engineering. Students of the department are highly enthusiastic and actively participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities apart from giving their best in academics.
